Tascam US-16x08 USB Audio/MIDI Interface

The US-16x08 gives a desktop rig 8 XLR mic inputs and 8 TRS line inputs, two of them switchable to instrument level, running through Tascam's Ultra-HDDA discrete preamp design rated at -125 dBu equivalent input noise with 56 dB of gain, enough clean gain for dynamic or ribbon mics that need it. Sixteen inputs and 8 balanced TRS outputs over USB 2.0 record a full band at once at up to 96kHz/24-bit.

A 5-pin MIDI in/out adds a hardware controller or synth to the same interface without a separate MIDI box, and Class Compliant drivers make it work with an iPad or iPhone for tracking on the go. At 6.11 lb and 17.5 inches wide, it sits on a desk or in a half-rack shelf rather than needing a full studio rack.
