Sony REA-C1000 Edge Analytics Appliance
The Sony REA-C1000 is a compact edge analytics appliance that sits between a camera and a codec or switcher, applying real-time AI processing to make a presentation or lecture feed look like a produced show. It extracts handwriting from a whiteboard and cleans it up as a separate, readable layer, crops in on the active speaker without a camera operator, and, with the optional PTZ Auto software pack, hands off auto-tracking to a compatible Sony PTZ camera so the shot follows a presenter walking across a stage.
Two HDMI inputs and two HDMI outputs handle resolutions up to UHD 4K30, and the aluminum housing with finned cooling keeps the unit running quietly through long sessions without a fan. It ships as the appliance alone (REAC1000) or bundled with the PTZ Auto-Framing software pack (REAC1000/SWPACK) for sites adding automatic camera tracking from day one. The REAADAPTOR power adapter and cord are required to run the unit and are sold separately.
