Park P50RH Rock Head
The P50RH Rock Head follows the vintage Park Rock Head of the 1970s and adds the thing the original never had: footswitchable channels, with independent level control over the clean and the overdrive. That one change is what turns it from a single-sound amp into a gigging amp, and the range runs from sparkling cleans through blues breakup to full overdrive and classic rock at whatever volume you are working at.
The control layout looks simpler than the circuit behind it. The clean channel covers a spread of clean tones and moderate crunch, with a push-pull Bright on its volume. The overdrive channel is the unusual one: rather than being a fixed high-gain voice, it works as a second warm, full clean channel at low settings and takes you through bluesy drive to fully saturated with nothing but Gain and Master, plus a push-pull Smooth switch. Bass, Middle, Treble, Master and Presence are shared, the effects loop is fully bypassable and transparent, and two parallel speaker outputs cover 4, 8 and 16 ohms.
