Martin Audio ADORN ACS-55TS 5.25" Shallow Ceiling Speaker

The ACS-55TS is the shallow-backcan version of the 5.25" ADORN ceiling speaker. The driver complement, power rating, taps and coverage all match the standard ACS-55T, but the can is 100mm deep instead of 192mm, which is the difference between fitting and not fitting above a plasterboard ceiling with ductwork running through it.

The shorter cabinet costs you low end, and the datasheet says so plainly: response starts at 117Hz rather than 98Hz, with the -10dB point at 79Hz. For speech, background music and paging in an office fit-out that is entirely reasonable, and a subwoofer covers the rest where music matters. It is 16 ohm, 50W AES, crossing at 3kHz with auto-resetting fuses, with 70V taps at 30, 15, 7.5 and 3.75W and 100V taps at 30, 15 and 7.5W. Two tile rails, a C-ring backing plate and a cut-out template are included.
