Kramer KDS-17EN KDS 17EN 4K60 4:4:4 AVoIP Encoder with Dante
The Kramer KDS-17EN is a 4K60 4:4:4 AVoIP encoder with Dante, putting video and audio onto a 1GbE network at full chroma resolution rather than the subsampled 4:2:0 that most low-bandwidth streaming settles for.
Latency is sub-frame, which is what makes it usable for live production and interactive work rather than only playback. Dante carries audio as an independently routable stream, so sound can be sent somewhere the video is not. The unit carries HDMI, optical SFP+, LAN, RS-232, line audio, IR, and a USB-B 3.1 host connection, and it pairs with the KDS-17DEC decoder.
