Galaxy Audio CBM-3 Carbon Boom Overhead Microphone
The CBM-3 is a 57 inch carbon-fiber boom microphone built for overhead pickup on choirs, orchestras, plays, and drum kits, where a mic on a stand in front of the source is not an option. A 2.5 inch flexible gooseneck lets you aim the capsule precisely once the boom is in place, and the back electret condenser element ships in interchangeable omni, cardioid, or super cardioid capsules so you can match the pattern to the room and the number of voices you are covering.
It connects through a mini XLR to XLR cable with a recessed 10 dB pad and an 80 Hz low-frequency roll-off switch built in, useful for taming rumble on an ambient or audience mic. The D configurations add a T-bar mount that carries two mics off one boom for wider stereo or backup coverage.
