DPA Microphones DPA MMP-ER / MMP-ES Modular Active XLR Cable, 3 m

The MMP-E replaces the rigid preamp body with a 3 m active cable: the preamplifier sits in a small housing right behind the capsule and the XLR is at the far end. That takes most of the mass and length out of the microphone position, which matters when a capsule has to hang from a wire or sit inside an instrument.

Two cable exits are stocked and they are not interchangeable in practice. MMP-ER brings the cable straight out of the back for hanging and end-on mounting; MMP-ES brings it out of the side, which keeps the run flat against a lid or a wall. Both accept any MMC capsule.
