Black Lion Audio Auteur MKIII Two-Channel Mic / Line / DI Preamp
The Auteur MKIII is Black Lion's two-channel mic, line, and DI preamp, the one most often bought as a front end for a small studio that has outgrown interface preamps. The circuit is solid state and voiced clean rather than colored, with a 10 Hz to 30 kHz bandwidth so the top and bottom of a source stay intact.
Each channel ends in a Cinemag output transformer, which is where the iron in the sound comes from, and carries switchable phantom power and a -10 dB pad. Inputs are two XLR, outputs are two 1/4 inch TRS. The chassis is half-rack, 10 x 9 x 4 inches and 3.1 lbs, running from the supplied 24 V AC 500 mA supply.
