A fluid head is chosen by weight, and the mistake runs in both directions. Put a light mirrorless body on a head built for a shouldered camera and the counterbalance shoves it back up when you tilt down; put a fully rigged camera on an under-rated head and it creeps downward on its own while you are trying to frame.
Weigh the whole rig - body, lens, monitor, battery, microphone, cage - not the body on its own, because that assembled figure is what the head has to balance. Then check the ball size matches the legs you own, since 75 mm and 100 mm are not interchangeable and a mismatch is a purchase you cannot use.
