The AT8418 is Audio-Technica's UniMount clip, a rubber-grip spring clamp that holds a clip-on instrument microphone to a drum rim, horn bell, or amp grille without marring the finish. A flexible boom lets a tech aim the capsule precisely once the clamp is in place, instead of settling for whatever angle the clip itself happens to land at.

A built-in cable strain relief keeps handling noise from the cable run reaching the mic, which matters on an instrument that moves during a set. It ships in the box with the PRO35 clip-on instrument mic and is sold here separately as a spare or replacement, packed in Case Style M1, M8, M12, or M36.
