Sony SMAD-P5 Multi Interface Shoe Adaptor (URX-P40)

The SMAD-P5 connects a URX-P40 wireless receiver to a camcorder or interchangeable-lens camera through the Multi Interface shoe, so audio goes from receiver to camera with no connecting cable. On compatible camcorders it also supports direct digital audio recording, bypassing the A/D and D/A conversion stages for lower noise.

The receiver draws power from the camcorder through the shoe, and receiver power on/off is controlled from the camera. Sony lists digital connection for the PXW-FX9, PXW-Z280/Z190, ILME-FX6V, ILME-FX3 and several Alpha bodies, with analog output across a wider set of camcorders and cameras.
