Panasonic PT-TMZ400Short-Throw Laser Projector

The Panasonic PT-TMZ400 is the WUXGA member of the TMZ400 short-throw laser family: native 1,920 x 1,200 resolution at 4,000 lumens, from a projector that sits close enough to the wall to keep the presenter out of the beam. The 0.43:1 fixed lens fills an 80-inch screen from about 2.4 ft, and the screen-size range runs 50 to 105 inches at 16:10. Three LCD panels handle red, green and blue simultaneously, so slides and video hold color without a rotating filter, and dynamic contrast is rated at 3,000,000:1.

Laser illumination is rated at approximately 20,000 hours before brightness halves, and the ECO filter can be washed and reused, which cuts the consumables a facilities team has to stock. Two HDMI inputs accept 4K/30p source signals and scale them to the panel, alongside a D-sub 15-pin computer input, audio, USB and an RJ-45 LAN port with PJLink Class 2, Crestron Connected and AMX Device Discovery for control-system integration. A 10 W monaural speaker is built in, the QUIET mode runs at 24 dB, and the white 4.9 kg (10.8 lb) chassis measures 349 x 138 x 370 mm.
