Lowell LBS4-DX Tile Bridge for 4-Inch Speaker, with Enclosure
A tile bridge carries a speaker assembly's weight out to the ceiling support structure instead of letting it hang on the tile, which is what keeps a 2x2 or 2x4 suspended ceiling from sagging around the speaker and is generally what local building code is asking for. The LBS4-DX does that job for a 4-inch speaker.
It is formed 22-gauge galvanized steel, 23.75 by 12.125 inches with a 6.375-inch opening, and takes either a screw-mount or a torsion grille. A backbox is required with this bridge: Lowell lists the CP4, DX104 and DX104-T recessed backboxes, the CN-4M and WB-4T torsion grilles, and the WB-4 screw-mount grille. Made in the U.S.A.; order in multiples of 10.
