Lab.gruppen E 4:2
The E 4:2 is the two channel, 400 W member of Lab.gruppen's E Series, built for installation rather than touring. Its IDEEA output stage, a patented Class D variant, holds 200 W on each channel into 2, 4, 8 or 16 ohms and drives a 70 V line directly, so a small subwoofer and a run of ceiling loudspeakers can share one 9.3 lb rack unit.
The Rail Sensing Limiter watches rail voltage per channel and optimises the output for whatever load is actually connected, which is also what allows asymmetric loading: the 400 W total can be split unevenly between the two channels, or sent entirely to one. Auto power-down drops the amplifier to under 1 W after 20 minutes of silence and wakes it on signal, and GPI and GPO contact closures let a control system change and monitor the power state.
