DVDO HDMI-MGR-1 4K HDMI EDID Emulator and HDCP Manager Pocket Tool
The HDMI-MGR-1 sits between a source and whatever is downstream and rewrites the EDID that the source sees. That is usually all it takes to stop a player negotiating a resolution the display cannot use, or a laptop refusing to output at all. Eight presets are selectable on a 4-pin DIP switch, one of which is user-defined and loaded over the USB-C port.
It also handles the content protection side: HDCP 2.2 from a source can be converted down to HDCP 1.4 for an older display, with automatic downscaling available, and CEC can be switched off entirely with a toggle when a display keeps waking or switching inputs on its own. The unit runs at 4K60 4:4:4 across the full 18 Gbps, and powers from the HDMI cable or from USB-C, so there is no separate adapter to find.
