Deity BP500 Carbon Fiber Boom Pole
The BP500 telescopes across 5 carbon fiber sections from a 4.2-foot collapsed length to a 16.4-foot reach, long enough to boom a wide two-shot from off camera without a second pole on set. CNC aluminum twist locks hold each section at any length without slipping, and the whole pole weighs just 2.1 lb, light enough for a boom operator to hold overhead through a long take.
A removable foam handle cuts down on handling noise transmitted up the pole to the mic, and a standard 3/8-16 threaded tip accepts any shock mount or mic clip built to that spec. It is built as a working boom pole for run-and-gun documentary or narrative production, not a display piece, and holds up to the daily rigging and de-rigging that job requires.
