Deity S-Mic 3 Supercardioid Shotgun Microphone
The S-Mic 3 is a supercardioid condenser shotgun for location dialogue, 250 mm long and 80 g on the end of a pole. Its low-noise circuit sits at 12 dB A-weighted, and sensitivity of -32 dB re 1V/Pa means a preamp does not have to be pushed into its own noise to reach a usable level. Off-axis response falls away smoothly - 6 dB at 60 degrees, 14 dB at 120 degrees, over 18 dB behind - so what leaks in still sounds like the room rather than a filtered artefact.
The aluminium body is weather resistant and shielded against RF interference, which is the practical difference between a usable take and a buzzing one near a lighting rig or a bank of wireless. It runs on 24 V or 48 V phantom at 10 mA out of a 3-pin XLR and works from 14 to 158 degrees F.
