Audix D6 Dynamic Kick Drum Microphone
The D6 is a cardioid dynamic voiced specifically for low-frequency sources - kick drum, floor toms, and bass cabinets. Its VLM (Very Low Mass) diaphragm tracks fast transients cleanly, and the factory response scoops the low mids while lifting the attack in the upper range, so a kick lands with punch and beater click without much EQ. The cardioid pattern and better than 20 dB of off-axis rejection keep the rest of the kit out of the channel.
A transformerless, low-impedance balanced design keeps the signal clean over long cable runs, and the machined aluminum body shrugs off stage abuse. It is compact enough to position inside a ported kick head and needs no phantom power. Audix designs, machines, and assembles the D6 in the USA.
