Whirlwind CatdusaDMX RJ45 to 5-Pin XLR Breakout Box
The CatdusaDMX uses five pin XLR connectors rather than three, giving a dedicated way to carry DMX lighting control over Cat5 or Cat6. Put one box at each end of a cable terminated in RJ45 and connect equipment with standard 5-pin DMX leads.
There are four circuits on the box, one per twisted pair of the Cat cable, and each circuit has both male and female 5-pin XLR connectors so signal can run in either direction. Pins 4 and 5 of the XLRs are not wired, which is what allows four universes on one cable, and conversion from 5-pin to 3-pin is done by using a standard Catdusa box at one end. Two parallel wired RJ45 jacks are provided for daisy chaining.
