RCF VSA 1250 II Digitally Steerable Column Array
The VSA 1250 II is a digitally steerable column array: each of its twelve 3.5-inch neodymium drivers gets its own amplifier channel and its own DSP, and the beam is aimed in software rather than by tilting the enclosure. That is what makes it work in reverberant rooms, where the usual failure is energy hitting the ceiling and the empty floor and coming back as slap.
The aluminium extrusion is 52.76 inches tall, 4.92 inches wide and 3.82 inches deep, and mounts flat to a wall on two supplied flanges. Response is 120 Hz to 18 kHz over a 130 degree horizontal by 30 degree vertical pattern, with 1300 W peak and 650 W RMS of amplification, soft limiting and thermal and short-circuit protection. RDNet is on board for setup and monitoring, inputs are ceramic screw terminals, and the column is available in white, black or a custom colour.
