Dream Cymbals Jin Ban Opera Gongs
Strike a Jin Ban in the middle and the pitch bends upward, which is why these are also called bending-up gongs. In an orchestra pit that rising glissando reads as ascent or as a whimsical transition; in a sound bath the attached cord lets the player carry it around the room. Three voices are offered, low, medium and high.
Every piece is made by hand in the Dream workshop rather than pressed on a line. Options offered here run High, Low and Medium, each ordered as its own part number. A mallet ships with each gong.
