Dream Cymbals Chau Gongs

The Chau, or tam-tam, is the gong most people picture. It has no fixed pitch, which is the point - the sound washes over a room rather than landing on a note. Orchestras use its dynamic range and long sustain to build tension; sound-healing practitioners use the same non-linear low frequencies for gong baths.
