AJA KONA LHi Multi-format Analog and Digital I/O PCIe Card

KONA LHi is the card for a suite that still has to meet analog and digital sources on the same day. On the digital side it carries 3G-SDI, HD-SDI and 270 Mbps SD-SDI plus an HDMI v1.3 mini connector in and out at 30 bits per pixel; on the analog side it handles composite, S-Video and component YPbPr or RGB through 12-bit converters with 8x oversampling. Formats run from 525i and 625i through 720p and 1080i/p up to 2K (2048 x 1080p) at all the usual rates from 23.98 to 60.

A 10-bit hardware up/down/cross-converter with anamorphic, pillarbox, letterbox and crop modes sits on the card, so mixed-format material can be conformed without a round trip through software. Audio covers 8-channel embedded SDI and HDMI, 2-channel AES/EBU and 2-channel balanced XLR analog, with RS-422 Sony 9-pin machine control, all on a 4-lane PCIe card drawing 13 W typical. AJA no longer manufactures the KONA LHi.
