Sony HDVF-EL760 7.4-inch Full HD OLED Viewfinder
The HDVF-EL760 is built for studio and OB positions on Sony's 4K and HD system cameras. The 1920 x 1080 7.4-inch OLED panel is the same class of display as the HDVF-EL740, but the mechanism is the reason to choose it: a counter-balanced lifting mechanism with a much wider up-and-down range and four-step click positioning, a fore and aft slider that lets the viewfinder sit over the camera handle and near the centre of the tripod, and a panning brake that holds any angle within 270 degrees with clicks at -90, 0 and +90 degrees. On a long pan the operator moves less.
A digital interface carries 1080p directly from current HDC series cameras, with the traditional analog interface retained for earlier bodies. Six assignable switches - four on the handles, two on the bezel - are set from the combined camera menus, and camera head menus can be driven from the viewfinder itself. Boosted Brightness Mode reaches 700 cd/m2 for bright ambient conditions, colour temperature adjusts from 3200K to 9500K in 100K steps, and a waveform monitor can be shown in the sub-display. An integral removable hood, number plate, cleaning cloth, 20-pin cable and hexagonal wrench are supplied.
