Sony HDC-P31 Compact HD POV System Camera
The Sony HDC-P31 is a compact point-of-view system camera built for the mounting positions a full-size studio camera can't reach - crane arms, rail rigs, robotic heads, and fixed positions tucked into a stage or set. It uses the same global-shutter three 2/3-inch CMOS sensor design as Sony's larger system cameras, giving it F12 sensitivity at 1080/60i and 60p (F13 at 50i/50p) with low 62dB noise, so the picture holds up even from a small, remote-mounted body. HDR capture via S-Log3 or HLG, combined with Sony's SR Live workflow, lets one HDC-P31 feed simultaneous HDR and SDR programs.
Because it's meant to be installed somewhere an operator can't easily walk up to, remote operation is built in: a web UI handles menu setup, status monitoring, log files, and firmware updates over the network, back focus on the mounted lens can be adjusted remotely from a Sony master setup unit or remote control panel, and IP tally rides over the same network cable instead of a dedicated tally line. It's a common fit for houses of worship, sports venues, and studio installs that need a full-quality broadcast camera in a spot too tight or too high for a shoulder-mount rig.
