Sony HDC-3500H 4K/HD Portable Studio Camera Head
The Sony HDC-3500H carries the same core imaging block as the rest of the HDC-3500 line: the world's first 2/3-inch 4K 3-CMOS sensor with global shutter technology, built to eliminate the jello effect and banding noise that show up on fast pans and strobing light. It captures 4K detail at 2000 TVL with exceptionally low -62dB noise and strong sensitivity - F10 at 1080/59.94p, F11 at 1080/50p - while covering the ITU-R BT.2020 wide color space that modern 4K/HDR broadcast delivery expects.
The 'H' designates a head configuration supplied without a transmission side panel, so it pairs with whichever HDCU camera control unit and matching HKC interface panel (fiber or triax) fits the truck or studio it's going into, rather than locking a buyer into one transmission format. It supports Sony's SR Live workflow for simultaneous HDR and SDR production from a single camera and crew, and connects to the HDCU-3100, HDCU-3170, and HDCU-3500 series control units over the standard SMPTE interface. Like the rest of the line, the body is magnesium alloy with carbon-fiber-reinforced-plastic outer panels for a light, rigid shoulder-mount package.
