Tentacle TRACK E Pocket Timecode Audio Recorder
TRACK E is a body-worn recorder the size of a Tentacle, and it solves the documentary problem: one more speaker, no more wireless channels. It records 48 kHz mono at 24 bit or 32-bit float to a MicroSD card, ships with a 16 GB card and takes up to 32 GB, and runs about 10 hours on its internal battery. An input limiter and high-pass filter are built in, and plugin power means it will take a wide range of small microphones.
What separates it from a generic pocket recorder is timecode. It syncs over Bluetooth 5.2 Low Energy from the Tentacle Setup app or jam syncs by cable, accepts timecode on the mic input and sends it back out the headphone jack, and supports 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, 29.97 drop frame and 30 fps. Every unit includes a license of Tentacle Sync Studio for Mac. The full kit adds an omnidirectional lavalier with clip and windjammer; the Basic Box is the recorder on its own for crews that already have mics.
