Sony HDCE-RX30 IP CCU Extension Adaptor (Receiver)
The HDCE-RX30 is the control-room half of Sony's HDCE-TX30 / RX30 IP camera extension pair. It connects directly to a camera control unit that sits remotely from the camera head, and takes in uncompressed camera signals that have been converted to SMPTE ST 2110 and carried over the IP network. There is no distance limitation between head and CCU, so a venue camera can be shaded from a central production facility.
Cameras covered are the HDC-3500/3100 and HDC-2500/2400/1700 series. Routing camera signals over IP rather than dedicated fiber means the same CCUs can be shared and re-allocated between studios, control rooms and machine rooms without re-cabling, which cuts how much live equipment has to be kept at each site. HD 4x high frame rate is available in PAIR MODE, and a 4K upgrade option is also offered in PAIR MODE. The unit is powered from the connected CCU, and menus, status monitoring, setting import and export and firmware updates are handled from a web browser.
