Sony HDCU-3100L IP-Enabled Camera Control Unit
The Sony HDCU-3100L is a compact, 1.5 rack-unit camera control unit that pairs with Sony's HDC-series fiber system cameras, from the flagship HDC-4300 down through the HDC-2000/1700 series and HSC fiber cameras. Connecting over optical fiber, it supplies power to the camera head, handles signal processing, and provides the interface to switchers, monitors, and intercom - the electronics that make a bare camera head into a working broadcast channel. Eight built-in SDI outputs, including four 3G-SDI, cover program, monitor, and return feeds without external converters.
Standard fiber transmission holds picture quality over runs up to 1.24 miles, and the optional HKCU-SM30 interface kit extends that to 6.21 miles over single-mode fiber - useful when a camera position sits well outside a stadium bowl or arena. The optional HKCU-UHD30 4K/HDR processor board adds 4K output when paired with a compatible HDC-series camera, and an optional HKCU-SDI30 kit condenses that to a single 12G-SDI cable. For IP workflows, the HKCU-SFP30 option board adds SMPTE ST 2110 support along with tally, intercom, and return. Menu settings, status monitoring, and firmware updates are all available from a web browser, and setting files can be exported and imported across units for fast multi-camera setup.
