Sony HDCE-TX50 IP Camera Extension Adaptor (Transmitter)

The HDCE-TX50 is the transmitter half of Sony's IP camera extension pair. It connects directly to an HDC camera head in the field and converts the camera's signals to the SMPTE ST 2110 family of standards, so the head can sit at a venue while its camera control unit lives at a production centre. Uncompressed transport over IP removes the fixed fiber tie between one camera and one CCU, which is what lets a facility re-allocate cameras, CCUs and other live equipment between studios and control rooms without re-cabling.

It is a 1/3 rack width unit that travels in a flight case, and it powers the camera head and the system interfaces itself. IP tally and IP intercom support covers RTS, Clear-Com and Riedel, so directors can talk to operators at the remote venue. 4K IP output is available in DIRECT MODE with the HZCE-UHD30 licence on HDC-3500/3100, or with HZC-UHD50 in the HDC-5500/5000; HD high frame rate runs up to 6x with an HDC-5500/5000 and the HZC-HFR50 licence, and up to 4x with HZC-QFR50. Menus, status monitoring, setting import and export, and firmware updates are handled from a web browser. Pair it with an HDCE-RX50 receiver at the CCU end.
