Sony HDCU-3170 IP-Capable Triax Camera Control Unit

The Sony HDCU-3170 is the purpose-built triax camera control unit for the HDC-3170 system camera, and it's also compatible with HDC-3500 cameras running the triax option. Housed in a compact 1.5U, 19-inch rack chassis, it supplies power to the camera over standard triax cable, handles all signal processing, and breaks out eight built-in SDI outputs - four of them 3G-SDI - for program, monitor, and return without extra converter boxes.

While triax is the primary connection, adding the optional HKCU-FB30 fiber option board makes the HDCU-3170 compatible with both triax and fiber cameras from the same rack position, which is handy for production companies and OB trucks that work different venues with different infrastructure on different days. The optional HKCU-UHD30 4K/HDR processor board adds 4K output when connected to a compatible HDC-series camera, and when paired with an HDC-3170 series camera the CCU can deliver simultaneous HD, HDR, and SDR outputs from one signal chain. Menu control is available from any web browser, and IP live-production features - tally, intercom, and return - come online with the optional HKCU-SFP30 SMPTE ST 2110 board.
