Sony HDCE-RX50 IP CCU Extension Adaptor (Receiver)
The HDCE-RX50 sits at the control room end of Sony's IP camera extension pair. It connects directly to the camera control unit while the camera head, fitted with an HDCE-TX50, works at the venue. Signals from HDC-5500/5000, HDC-3500/3100 and HDC-2500/2400/1700 series cameras are carried uncompressed as SMPTE ST 2110 over the IP network, with no distance limit between head and CCU.
Because cameras and CCUs are no longer tied together by a fiber run, the same pool of control units can be shared between studios, control rooms and machine rooms and re-allocated over IP rather than re-patched by hand. IP intercom support covers RTS, Clear-Com and Riedel so the production centre can talk to operators on site. In PAIR MODE the system carries HD 6x high frame rate with HDC-5500/5000 over UHB transmission, and HD 4x with an HDC-3500 and the HZC-QFR50 licence; 4K is available with HZC-UHD50 in the HDC-5500/5000, or via HZCE-UHD30 in the HDCE-TX50 with HDC-3500/3100. The unit draws power from the connected CCU and is configured from a web browser.
