Sony DWM-02N Digital Wireless Handheld Microphone Transmitter
The DWM-02N is the handheld transmitter in Sony's DWX digital wireless system, and it ships without a capsule on purpose. The head thread accepts Sony's own CU-C31, CU-F31 and CU-F32 capsules as well as most third-party heads, so a house that already stocks a preferred capsule can standardize the RF side without changing the sound of the microphone. Audio rides Sony's WiDIF-HP link as 24-bit digital with AES encryption, which keeps the signal clean across a long throw and out of reach of a scanner.
Three selectable RF output levels (1, 10 and 50 mW e.r.p.) let you match power to the room instead of blanketing it, and 25 kHz tuning steps across the UHF band give you room to plan a dense channel count. An OLED display handles setup at the mic, and Cross Remote over 2.4 GHz lets Wireless Studio or an RMU-01 change settings without taking the mic off the talent. Two AA alkaline cells power it.
