Sony ECM-44B Lavalier Microphone
The ECM-44B is a miniature omnidirectional electret condenser lavalier built for the working world of ENG, interviews, panels, and house-of-worship speech. Its wide, even omni pattern captures a natural, full-bodied voice without the proximity coloration of a directional capsule, and its small black-anodized body clips discreetly to a lapel or tie. The result is intelligible, consistent dialogue whether the talent turns their head or moves through a room.
Sound reaches an integral battery module that terminates in a 3-pin XLR-M connector on a 9.8-foot cable, so the mic plugs straight into a camera, mixer, or bodypack input. A single AA cell runs the capsule for roughly 5000 hours, so it stays ready across long shoot days. A windscreen and clip help tame plosives and hold the element where you place it.
