Sony ECM-322BMP Omnidirectional Earset Microphone
The ECM-322BMP is an earset condenser for people who talk for a living: seminars, conferences, lectures and training rooms. The element weighs about 10 grams without connectors and sits on a supplied headband, close enough to the mouth that room reflection stops being the dominant sound, which is what makes it hold up in a live, hard-surfaced meeting space where a lavalier struggles.
The capsule is omnidirectional with a 50 Hz to 18 kHz response, so head turns do not chop the level, and it handles 115 dB SPL before it complains. It runs on 2 to 10 V DC and terminates in Sony's BMP-type 3.5 mm three-pole mini plug, matching the UWP and UWP-D bodypacks. A clip and a carrying case ship with it.
