Gitzo GSF50 / GSF50M Big Foot 50mm
The Big Foot puts a wide 50mm rubber pad on a ball joint instead of a fixed stud. The pad swivels until its whole face is on the ground, so a leg splayed out to its widest angle still gets full contact rather than balancing on one edge, and the load spreads instead of sinking into sand or carpet.
The GSF50 is the three-foot set for tripods. The GSF50M is the same foot as a single piece for monopods, where the ball does a second job: it lets the pole tilt and pivot under you while the foot stays planted, which is how you follow a moving subject without lifting and replanting. Both fit Gitzo legs with 3/8 inch threads and replace the older G1220.130B and G1410.130B parts.
