Gitzo Series 2 Carbon Fiber Monopod

A monopod earns its place on a sideline or in a hide, where a tripod will not fit and hand-holding a long lens all afternoon is not realistic. The Series 2 runs 18.2 to 29 mm Carbon eXact tubing, weighs 0.51 kg, and carries a rated 35 kg, which is more than any lens you are likely to put on it.

G-lock twist collars open and close the four sections in about a quarter turn each, and the foot is a rubber pad on a pivoting ball joint so the tube can lean without the contact patch rolling off. That foot unscrews for the optional Gitzo feet. The top takes a 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch head directly. The 6-section GM2562T is the Traveler version, folding shorter for a bag.
