Fostex T60RPmk2 Semi-Open Planar-Magnetic Headphones in Mahogany

The T60RPmk2 keeps the turned African mahogany earcups that gave the original T60RP its character and puts the fourth-generation RP planar diaphragm behind them. Wood is not decoration here: the cup damps the rear wave differently from a plastic shell, and the semi-open vent lets the driver breathe rather than loading it into a sealed volume. Sensitivity is 96 dB/mW into 28 ohms.

The driver takes up to 3,000 mW and is quoted from 10 Hz to 40 kHz, so it scales with a real headphone amp while staying civil on a modest source. Each cup takes its own 3.5 mm 2-pole plug from the supplied 2 m Y cable, which opens the way to aftermarket balanced leads. Weight is about 360 g without the cable, and a 3.5 mm to 6.3 mm adapter and a dedicated pouch are in the box.
