Fostex TH1100RPmk2 Open-Back Planar-Magnetic Headphones

The TH1100RPmk2 is the vented counterpart to the closed TH1000RPmk2, using the same RP planar-magnetic diaphragm in the TH flagship housing. Opening the rear of the cup costs some sensitivity, 96 dB/mW here against 100 dB/mW sealed, and returns a presentation that is not fighting a trapped volume of air behind the diaphragm. Impedance is 32 ohms.

Input handling is unchanged at 3,000 mW, which is nearly twice what the dynamic TH-910 and TH-919 take, and the quoted range runs 10 Hz to 40 kHz. The 2 m supplied lead is 7N-grade high-purity OFC, unbalanced, with a 3.5 mm 2-pole plug at each cup and a gold-plated 6.3 mm three-pole plug at the source. It weighs about 420 g without the cable and ships with a synthetic leather pouch.
