Fostex TH-909 LE Open-Back Dynamic Headphones with Urushi Lacquer

The TH-909 LE is the limited-edition finish of Fostex's open-back flagship. The driver is the 50 mm neodymium unit with the bio-dynamic diaphragm used across the TH line, presenting 25 ohms at 100 dB/mW and quoted from 5 Hz to 45 kHz with an 1,800 mW ceiling. Opening the rear of the cup is what separates this line from the closed TH-900mk2.

The housings are lacquered by hand in urushi rather than sprayed. Cabling differs from the standard TH-909: this edition ships a 2 m 7N-grade OFC lead terminating in a gold-plated 6.3 mm stereo plug, attaching at each cup on rhodium-plated 2-pin connectors. The headphone weighs about 390 g without the cable and comes with a leather-like pouch.
