Blackmagic ATEM 2 M/E Constellation HD
The ATEM 2 M/E Constellation HD is a 1RU live production switcher built for shows that outgrew a compact switcher but still work in HD. The two mix/effects design takes 20 3G-SDI inputs, each with its own standards converter so mismatched cameras, players and computers all lock to the program format, and feeds 12 independently assignable 3G-SDI aux outputs. Inside are 8 upstream advanced chroma keyers, 2 downstream keyers, a SuperSource compositor, DVEs and two media players, so a single operator can build multi-layer looks live.
Audio runs through a built-in 48-channel Fairlight mixer with 6-band parametric EQ, expander, gate, compressor and limiter on every input, with two 1/4 inch jacks and a 5-pin XLR talkback line on the rear. Two 3G-SDI multi views, a reference input for Tri-Sync or black burst, and a USB-C webcam output round out the connections, and the front panel LCD gives emergency switching without a computer. It runs on internal 100-240V AC and ships with a welcome wallet holding the software download code.
