Softron S|40, S|40E, and S|80 MovieRecorder Ingest Bundles
The S-series ingest bundles are how Softron sells MovieRecorder in quantity. S|40 carries four MovieRecorder licenses for four channels of ingest; S|80 carries eight. S|40E covers the same four channels with MovieRecorder Express licenses instead, the simplified edition, for a fixed ingest position that does not need the full application's captioning, metadata, or deck control. Buying a bundle rather than several separate licenses is the normal route for a facility standing up a multichannel ingest station, and it keeps the licensing to a single line item on the purchase order.
S|40 and S|80 license full MovieRecorder, so every channel gets edit-while-ingest recording on macOS in ProRes, H.264, AVC-Intra, DV/DVCPRO, DNxHD, IMX, or XDCAM, wrapped as MXF Op1a or QuickTime, with CEA-608 and CEA-708 caption tracks. S|40E licenses MovieRecorder Express instead, recording ProRes and H.264 into QuickTime only, with no closed captioning, metadata, effects, or RS422 deck control. How many of the licensed channels actually run at once still depends on the capture hardware and the Mac they are installed on, so specify the card and the machine alongside the bundle.
