Softron GPI Commander USB-to-GPI Interface
GPI Commander is Softron's USB-to-GPI hardware, built to trigger and be triggered by Softron applications without a separate GPI card in the Mac. It brings in 24 open-collector inputs on a common-ground DB25 connector and drives 8 relay outputs on a phoenix screw-terminal block, switching loads up to 220V. The box is chainable, so a facility that outgrows one unit's I/O count can add another instead of replacing it.
Control runs through AppleScript or a REST API, which is how it talks to MovieRecorder, OnTheAir Video and OnTheAir Video Express, MultiCam Logger, M|Replay, OnTheAir CG, and OnTheAir Switch: a switcher or router closure can start a record, fire a replay, or trigger a graphic without an operator touching the keyboard. It runs on macOS 11 or later with 2 GB of RAM as the recommended minimum, and it is USB 2.0 bus-powered, so no separate power supply is needed at the rack.
