Tascam Mixcast 4 Podcast Station, Recorder and USB Interface
The Mixcast 4 is a self-contained podcast desk: four XLR/TRS combo mic inputs with individual headphone outputs, a colour touchscreen, and eight assignable trigger pads for stings and beds. It records to SD, SDHC or SDXC media up to 512 GB at 48 kHz, 24-bit, capturing 14 tracks at once so each participant and the mix are archived separately.
The same unit is a USB audio interface for a computer and takes a smartphone caller on a four-pole TRRS jack with mix-minus handled internally, so a remote guest does not hear themselves back. Frequency response on the mic inputs is 20 Hz to 20 kHz and the recorder captures 12 tracks plus a stereo mix.
