Shure QLXD2 B58
The QLXD2/B58 is the handheld transmitter for Shure's QLX-D digital wireless system, fitted with the Beta 58A supercardioid dynamic capsule that fronts countless live vocal rigs. The Beta 58A's supercardioid pattern rejects monitor and PA bleed to fight feedback on a loud stage, and its tailored, brightened response cuts a lead vocal through a dense mix. QLX-D carries that sound as transparent 24-bit / 48 kHz digital audio with AES-256 encryption, so the wireless link is both clean and secure.
Setup is push-button: the handheld syncs to its receiver over infrared in seconds, and 1 mW or 10 mW selectable RF output lets you trade range for channel count. Two AA alkalines give up to 9 hours of continuous use, or the optional SB900B lithium-ion pack reports remaining runtime in hours and minutes. The capsule is interchangeable with other Shure QLX-D handheld heads if your vocal needs change.
