Shure QLXD2 K8B
The QLXD2/K8B is Shure's QLX-D handheld transmitter fitted with the KSM8 Dualdyne capsule, pairing a professional stage vocal mic with 24-bit digital wireless. The KSM8 is a dual-diaphragm cardioid dynamic that tames proximity effect and holds a consistent tonal balance as a singer moves on and off the grille, so the voice stays natural whether the mic is right on the lips or held back. AES-256 encryption keeps the link private, and IR sync pairs the transmitter to a QLX-D receiver at the push of a button.
The QLX-D system runs 1 or 10 mW of selectable RF power over a 100 meter line-of-sight range and carries more than 120 dB of dynamic range, so no transmitter gain adjustment is needed. Two AA alkaline cells give up to 9 hours of use, and the optional SB900B lithium-ion pack adds runtime with remaining-time reporting in hours and minutes plus external charging contacts. The capsule is interchangeable with other Shure QLX-D microphone heads.
