Shure QLXD2 B87C
The QLXD2/B87C is a QLX-D digital handheld transmitter fitted with the Beta 87C vocal head, a cardioid condenser capsule tuned for lead and backing vocals. The cardioid pattern favors the singer and rejects monitor and PA bleed to help control feedback on a loud stage, while the condenser element brings the detail and presence a dynamic head cannot match. It syncs to a QLX-D receiver over infrared at the push of a button, so a channel is set in seconds without menu diving.
The transmitter carries transparent 24-bit digital audio and AES 256-bit encryption for a secure, uninterrupted signal over its full 330 foot line-of-sight range. Two AA alkaline batteries give up to 9 hours of continuous use, or an optional Shure SB900B lithium-ion pack reports remaining runtime in hours and minutes. The head is interchangeable with other Shure capsules, so the same body can wear an SM58, Beta 58A, or KSM9 when the room changes.
