Martin JEM Glaciator Dynamic Low Fog Machine
The JEM Glaciator Dynamic makes the low, rolling fog that stays on the deck for opera, ballet, awards shows and film work, and it does it without a dry ice supply chain. The machine chills its own output, so the effect starts on cue and stops on cue instead of depending on how much ice is left in the hopper. Output is 80 cubic metres per minute, warm-up runs five to seven minutes, and fluid consumption tops out at 70 ml per minute.
The internal reservoir holds 5 litres, with an optional 25 litre external supply for long running. Control is one or two DMX channels to ANSI E1.11, with 3-pin and 5-pin XLR for DMX and RDM plus a 3-pin XLR remote input. It draws 3500 W maximum on a 208 to 250 V supply, so it needs a dedicated circuit planned in advance. At 785 by 648 by 769 mm and 124 kg dry, it is a two-person move on castors rather than a case you carry, and it is normally positioned once and left.
