ESE ES488U Rack-Mount SMPTE/EBU Time Code Generator/Reader/Inserter

The ES-488U is a microprocessor-based rackmount unit that does the three jobs a facility needs from time code in one box: it generates SMPTE, reads it, and burns it into video. Time and user bits are presettable and are both read and generated, a regenerated time code output cleans up incoming code, and the 0.56-inch yellow LED display reads playback from 1/30 up to 30x speed.

For the video-insert side it takes video/black-burst and color-frame inputs and provides two video outputs, with position, size, and brightness controls and keyed, transparent, background, or no-background insert modes. It works in SMPTE, EBU, and Film modes, with an optional RS-232 remote-control interface, and ships for 110-120 VAC (220-240 VAC optional).
