ESE ES493U Wall-Panel SMPTE/EBU Reader

The ES-493U is a large-format timecode display sized to be read across a studio or control room. Eight 2.3-inch amber LED digits auto-detect and show SMPTE or EBU timecode, and the reader tracks code in both directions from a twentieth of play speed up to ten times play speed. Setup options let it display twelve- or twenty-four-hour time and switch to show user bits instead of the running time.

Built-in error detection and correction keeps the readout flicker-free when the incoming code gets ragged, backed by an error indicator that can be defeated through an internal DIP switch. A rear terminal block carries a Hold input that freezes the display and a second input that selects between time and user bits. The reader lives in a 5-inch by 19-inch by 3.5-inch wall-mount panel, and display color can be ordered in blue, green, or red, with a UL power supply option available.
